Weather in Ottawa: Sunshine and above-seasonal temperatures in Ottawa on Friday

Ottawa is expected to enjoy a stretch of above-seasonal temperatures throughout the weekend, which will be perfect for being outside for the Santa Claus parades in downtown Ottawa and Barrhaven this weekend.

Environment Canada’s forecast calls for maximum temperatures of 6°C on Friday, 9°C on Saturday, 7°C on Sunday and 9°C on Monday. Normal temperatures for this time of year are 4°C maximum and -3°C minimum.

The weather will be mainly sunny today. High 6 C.

It’s clear this evening. Low -1°C.

The sun persists on Saturday. High 9 C.

Sunday will be cloudy with a maximum temperature of 7°C. The forecast calls for a chance of showers Sunday evening during the Barrhaven Santa Claus Parade.

The outlook for Monday calls for a mix of sun and clouds with a 40 percent chance of showers. High 9 C.


Santa Claus parades this weekend in Ottawa


SATURDAY: Help out with Santa’s Toy Parade which starts at 11am. Bring a donation to support CTV and MOVE 100’s Toy Mountain campaign. The parade will begin at Ottawa City Hall and head west on Laurier Avenue and south on Bank Street to Lansdowne.


Sunday: Santa Claus Parade in Barrhaven at 5:30 p.m. The parade travels along Strandherd Drive, Beatrice Drive to OC Transpo Park N’ Ride..
