Family believes 13-year-old ‘is in immediate danger’ after disappearance in River Rouge

RED RIVER, Michigan. – The family of a 13-year-old boy who disappeared this weekend in Rivière Rouge believes that he “is in immediate danger.”

Police said Christopher Brown, 13, was last seen at 10:07 a.m. on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at the McDonald’s restaurant located at 10995 West Jefferson Avenue in River Rouge.

The boy was seen chaining his bike to a rack outside and going inside for about a minute, police said. Cameras captured him leaving the restaurant and getting into the front passenger seat of a dark-colored Chevrolet Tahoe.

The Tahoe had a Florida license plate with the number DSM1544.

Family members said they tried calling Brown’s cell phone, but he didn’t answer. This is not his usual behavior, they said.

Brown recently stopped taking his medication. Family members believe he is in “immediate danger,” according to police.

He is described as 5 feet 2 inches to 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs approximately 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, red shorts and brown shoes. He was carrying a red binder.

Anyone with information is asked to call River Rouge Public Safety at 313-842-8700 ext. 1. You can also call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP to remain anonymous.
