Coronation Street star Maureen Lipman Said she “could kill” Alan Halsall after registering for I’m a celebrity…get me out of here!

After months of speculation about which famous faces had signed up to become campmates for the upcoming 2024 season, the line-up was confirmed this week.

Among the 10 stars announced so far are Coleen RooneyOti Mabuse, Danny Jones and soap star Alan, who has played Tyrone Dobbs on Corrie since 1998.

However, when asked about his next visit Down UnderMaureen, 78, did not mince her words.

“I could kill him honestly,” she replied when asked if she was worried about him during an appearance on Lorraine THURSDAY.

“He was going to go last year but he injured his knee. If they hurt a hair of this boy, even if he doesn’t have many, or if they give him turkey testicles, I will personally kill them.

“He’ll be fine because he’s a lovely human being.

“His life is very well-ordered and he’s a better actor than you ever imagined. He loves to play golf and he’ll be very careful at first, but if people get into it, they’ll find out that it’s is a lovely person.

When it was officially announced that he would be heading to the jungle, Alan said it was “the worst kept secret ever.”

“It was a bit of a shock when I injured my knee last year and even though I’m surgically off, I still have several months of physio ahead of me,” he shared.

Explaining what he would miss most, the 42-year-old said he was not worried about the small portions of food in the camp, but felt emotional about leaving his daughter.

“We are never apart for more than two weeks. I’m very emotional about Sienna, so it will be interesting to see how I do, he shared.

“I tend to try to hide my emotions but with Sienna I’m not very good at all – I think I’m going to have several blubs. She’s 11 so I hope I don’t embarrass her.

Admitting he wanted to win, Alan also added: “You’re dealing with some big personalities in the camp, and I’m just looking forward to having fun.”

I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here begins on Sunday November 17 at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX. Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV1.
