A specialized mobile application is being developed to address the crowd management and emergency response challenges faced by police personnel during the Maha Kumbh 2025. The “Mahakumbh Mela 2025 Police” application is designed to enhance the efficiency, coordination and responsiveness of the police forces during the mega religious gathering, which is expected to attract millions of visitors.

Equipped with features such as real-time communication, incident reporting and status updates, the application will act as a centralized platform for seamless interaction between police officers of all ranks. It will also offer comprehensive information about the Mela grounds, including detailed driving directions, key landmarks and contact details of police personnel.

Senior Superintendent of Police Mahakumbh Rajesh Kumar Dwivedi highlighted the importance of the app saying, “It will provide crucial information on various sectors, routes and key details of the fairground, enabling officers to orient themselves effectively. The application will be operational before the start of Mahakumbh and will be pre-installed on the mobile device of each police officer. The process of selecting an agency to develop the app is currently underway.

The application, specially designed for crowd management, will facilitate rapid emergency responses, ensuring public safety, maintaining public order and improving overall operational efficiency. It represents a significant step in the digital transformation of the event.

Scheduled from January 13 (Paush Poornima) to February 26 (Maha Shivratri) in Prayagraj, Maha Kumbh 2025 will be supported by this technology initiative. The integration with the Bhashini app will further enhance the app’s capabilities by enabling effective communication with citizens speaking various languages.

This state-of-the-art tool is expected to streamline police operations and significantly strengthen their preparedness for handling one of the largest religious gatherings in the world.
